My pre-fight thought of Mayweather/Pacquiao

Obviously this fight and the fighters need any introduction, but the general consent is Manny will be very aggressive all the way to try and force Floyd into a brawl, ultimately Floyd will keep his and adjust to win a UD.

I don't think it will quite plan out this way because a few factors of both fighters are often over looked. Firstly Mayweather is a lot tougher and stronger than he looks. He was able to muscle Shane Mosley around the ring and not give ground to Canelo is a clear indicator of that. He might not be a big welterweight but he is certainly very strong for his size and the bigger man of the night.

Secondly he is very good on the inside and counter punches very well off it. Ricky Hatton basically got countered to death even when he got close. Manny might be a lot quicker than Hatton, but he can be timed and he is not as comfortable as Mayweather on the inside. So Floyd has an advantage in clinches. He might not do that a lot, but he might bring it out in this fight.

Pacquiao's ring IQ is also underestimated. He has very fast and good footwork which allows him to dart in and out of range. Most fighters can't even touch him solely because of that, he also has a good jab, very fast and heavy hands so he will get off power shot first before the other guy can get his jab in.

I think this fight will be very much a fast pace version of Calzaghe/Hopkins. Floyd will probably stick with his one punch at a time tactic that he has been so successful with and Manny will use his speed to try and out work Mayweather. He will most likely move in and out while throw some fast combinations, not necessary to hit Floyd cleanly but to keep him hand tied so he can't counter. These punches don't even have to be power shots, they just have to be fast enough to stop Floyd punching back. Mayweather's defensive style doesn't work as well against fast left hands and combos, I can see this giving him some problems.

Floyd being the bigger guy will use his strength to slow Pacquiao down and frustrate him, to make him think at his pace which he has a clear advantage. He has much faster reflexes and use less dirty tactics than Hopkins, but I can see him taking a similar approach.

My final prediction would be it won't be as ugly and boring as Calzaghe/Hopkins, but this will be a cagey fight first half and might open up a bit lately if anyone of them get more confident. So basically get prepare for disappointment.

Pacquiao will throw a lot of punches but most of them won't land cleanly, but Mayweather will definitely land the more telling blows and head popping shots. It will be very hard to score but if the fight is close Floyd most likely get the decision. So I am going for a controversial split decision in favour of Mayweather with a lot of bitching afterwards.

My Alternative Ending to Gundam SEED Destiny

I find this old piece of work I have wrote years ago while cleaning the pc. It pretty funny and I hope its the real ending. Only if I would find the SRW styled animatic that I have made for it.

After Meer has saved Lacus from her assassination, as the battle continues, Neo GENESIS recharges for its next firing. Shinn and Rey attack Athrun and Kira, and Kira tells the Archangel. Dearka asks Yzak what they're going to do, and Yzak says they'll cover the Eternal because it's a ZAFT ship. Rey tells Shinn to go after Athrun while he takes on Kira, saying he will put an end to everything. Athrun and Neo engage several mobile suits, and the Minerva attacks the Archangel. Lunamaria encounters Athrun. She attacks Athrun for taking Meyrin away, and Athrun saying he doesn't want to fight her. Lunamaria presses on her attack, and Athrun slices off the Impulse Gundam's left arm and leg. Shinn arrives to help Lunamaria. He yells at Athrun for attacking Lunamaria and slam Athrun into the Moon's surface.

Kira wonders who he is fighting, and Rey tells him that he is Rau Le Creuset, and says that the two of them should disappear so that the world can be reborn. Rey recalls Durandal giving him a box of pills and telling him that Rau is dead. Durandal told Rey that he is also Rau and that it's his destiny. Athrun and Shinn fight with beam saber and sword while Lunamaria watches and Athrun destroys Shinn's sword. Kira asks Rey why he's doing the same thing as Rau, and Rey says that the world should go back to the way it was before. Kira says that isn't right and tells Rey that he only has one life, which belongs to him and not Rau. Rey is momentarily distracted, and Kira fires all his weapons and inflicting heavy damage upon Rey’s Legend Gundam.

The Archangel and Minerva continue to fire at each other, and Neo takes off with the help of a Murasame to attack Requiem. Shinn continue his assault on Athrun, but Athrun blocks with his beam shield. Athrun tells Shinn he shouldn't fight because he's trapped in his past. He says that nothing Shinn does will bring anyone back, and he asks Shinn if he really wants to use his power to kill his future. Shinn rushes in to finish him and Lunamaria jumps in the way because she doesn't want him to fight Athrun. Shinn tries to stop his attack, but Athrun knocks him aside and disables Shinn’s Destiny Gundam and sent it crashing into the Moon's surface.
Durandal asks for a status report and is told that they've lost the signals of both the Legend Gundam and Destiny Gundam. With Orb forces centered near one of Requiem's relay stations, Durandal orders that Neo GENESIS be fired at them. Rey wakes up and flies the damaged Legend Gundam to Messiah. Kira returns to the Eternal and docks the Strike Freedom with a METEOR. The Archangel flies over the Minerva and damages it. Athrun smashes his sub flight lifter through the ship's engines, and the Minerva crashes into the Moon's surface. As Requiem begins its own charge to fire, Athrun and Neo fly straight into the heart of the cannon. Yzak calls the Eternal and tells Lacus to move her ships before Messiah attacks. Neo GENESIS fires again and destroys several ZAFT and Alliance ships. Athrun and Neo destroy Requiem, and the two escape just as it explodes.

In a dream, Shinn sees himself with Stella. He tells her she shouldn't be around there, but she says she just wanted to see him for awhile. She tells him she will see him tomorrow and vanishes. Shinn wakes up in Lunamaria's arms and sees the fire from Requiem, and she tells him it didn't hit Orb. Kira uses his METEOR to destroy the outer ring surrounding Messiah, and he flies inside and destroys the space dock. Shinn watches the fire and begins to cry in Lunamaria's arms. Talia tells everyone that they will cease combat operations, and she leaves Arthur in charge. Kira enters Durandal's damaged chamber and pulls a gun on him. Durandal pulls out a gun and tells Kira that if he continues what he's doing, the world will fall into darkness. Kira says that people could choose a different path, and Durandal counters that people forget things and make the same mistakes over and over. Rey enters the room behind Kira, and Talia enters the room from another side. Durandal asks Kira which of their worlds humanity will choose. Just as Durandal is about to shoot Kira, Rey shoots Durandal instead. Durandal asks Talia if she shot him, but she says it was Rey. Rey cries in the corner and says he's sorry. As the room begins to explode, Kira moves towards Talia, but she tells him to leave and says she is staying behind. She asks him to tell Murrue to visit her son someday. Kira escapes and Rey hugs Talia as the room explodes around them. Kira reaches the Strike Freedom just in time and flies out of Messiah before it explodes and crashes into the Moon. Shinn and Lunamaria cry as they watch the destruction unfold.

The Archangel team desided to go to space with the last of Orb troops to stop Requiem and Neo GENESIS and ends ZAFT’s world dominate though terror and fight for their survival. They succeeded to destroy Requiem with the overpowered Freedom and Justice. Shinn and Rey attacks Athrun and Kira with Minerva to ensure Neo GENESIS can fire. Dearka asks Yzak what they're going to do, and Yzak says they'll cover the Eternal because it's a ZAFT ship. But instead they got executed by the army for treason. Rey tells Shinn to go after Athrun while he takes on Kira, saying he will put an end to everything. Athrun and Neo engage several mobile suits, and the Minerva attacks the Archangel. Lunamaria encounters Athrun. She attacks Athrun for taking Meyrin away, and Athrun saying he doesn't want to fight her. Lunamaria presses on her attack, and Athrun slices off the Impulse Gundam's arm and leg. Shinn arrives to help Lunamaria. He yells at Athrun for attacking Lunamaria and slam Athrun into the Moon's surface.

As Shinn continue his assault on Athrun, but Athrun blocks with his beam shield. Athrun tells Shinn he shouldn't fight because he's trapped in his past. He says that nothing Shinn does will bring anyone back, and he asks Shinn if he really wants to use his power to kill his future. Shinn rushes in to try to finish him and Lunamaria jumps in the way because she doesn't want him to fight Athrun. Shinn tries to stop his attack, but Athrun kills her with no remorse instead. This has driven Shinn mad and made him attacked very furiously. Athrun was picking his spot and destroys Shinn’s weapon one by one. In a flashback, Shinn sees himself with Stella, Lunamaria, and his sister Mayu. They cheered Shinn and said they will lend their powers to Shinn. All of this happened a split of a second, and a miracle have happened as Destiny manage have summoned all of its last strength to destroys the shocked Athrun and his Justice, killing him in the process. Although Shinn have knocked himself into coma due to extreme emotion clash and stress, with Destiny heavily damaged.

Meanwhile, Kira is still fighting and asks why he's doing the same thing as Rau, and Rey says that the world should go back to the way it was before. Kira says that isn't right and tells Rey that he only has one life, which belongs to him and not Rau. But Rey replied it doesn’t matter who he is, he still hates Kira and determined to kill him. Unfortunately Kira outclasses Rey and heavily damaged Legend. As a result Rey decided to grab Kira’s Freedom and self-destruct as a last ditch attempt to kill him. In order to escape, Kira uses his DRAGOON to destroy Legend. Even though he escaped by killing Rey, but Freedom is no long in an operational state.

Durandal asks for a status report and is told that they've lost the signals of both the Legend Gundam and Destiny Gundam. With Orb forces completely wiped out, Durandal orders to retreat since victory is almost secured. Kira, with Freedom barely functional but very close to Durandal’s escape point, he goes into one last bullshit argument with Durandal. But eventually with time running out, he got out of the suit, pull out the panzerfaust and fire a shot at the bridge of Durandal’s escape craft.



With Durandal died and Meer starting to convince soldier on both sides to stop the war, KIra yells, “I...I...I don’t want to kill anymoreeee!!!!”

I was pretty torn on should Durandal just die without resisting or should he get out and fight Freedom with a gold Sasabi/Nightgale. But I guess this is ok too.

suarez biting


in awaking of this whole suarez bite incident, i think fine suarez 2 weeks wages (which is the most you are allowed to do btw) and ban 7 games or whatever is not enough. because 7 games in a season that is pretty much over with nothing to play for and 2 weeks wages literally means shit, for him it tickles and he will never change.

this whole bite thing is exceptionally bad since the differences between this and roy keane, duncan fergerson and many other bad shit that some of his supporters (no offense but i really have to question one's intelligent to defend this asshole) failed to understand why people are making such a big deal about this is, its not about his diving, not racist-ism, not to sell papers, its about blatant unprovoked assault (he literally grabbed ivanovic's arm and tried to take a chunk out of it for no reason. it might be ok in where he came from, but over here in england, its assault, you can get arrested if you done this on the street) caught in a high profile game on national tv with millions watching live worldwide.

funny thing is even if pool wants to sell him, they cant. player has more power than clubs nowadays (at least in mid table teams they do), and pool cant afford to lose him. honestly pool would be fighting for relegation without him and other big team wont pay big money for such a problem maker. ironically if he was a shit player, he would be booted out of the club tomorrow morning.

football, or professional sports rather, is the only job in the world where you can make racist comment, abuse and physically assault your colleague or fellow professional and still be in the job. if that was any other job, you would be sacked and never allow back into the industry ever again. i love the sport but it makes me sick to see this kind of behavior and questionable characters goes almost unpunished and still undeservedly get paid crap loads more than many other well educated hard working profession because they can kick a ball well.

for me, banning him life and kick him out of england is over the top. but he deserves more than a 12 game ban that the thug barton got. they are not too dis-similar anyway. personally, like barton, i rather not see this cheat/thug in english football again

Olympic Basketball!

Had a fun day today(02/08/12) at the Olympics. went to see the Chinese basketball team, got the 6.38am train to London, thank god it wasn’t crowded so I got the Olympic park around 8, but the woman at the entrance couldn’t sort out my ticket. I had to wait for ages for these people to sort it out in a very typical inefficient British way. Ok so I got into the basketball arena on time anyway. The basketball arena is actually a very nice place, reminds me of the MEN arena.

The first match was France vs. Lithuania. The Lithuanian crowd was very supportive of their own and hostile towards the French team, jeering and booing them every time they got the ball even in their own half. They were so loud the France fans couldn’t even be heard even though there are lots of them there. The French guy in front of me wasn’t very pleased of their actions.

The match itself was pretty good. Lithuania was sloppy at the start the very quickly trailed by 6 inside the first 3 minutes. But they came back strong and close the gap to 1 point. France led the first quarter by 4 by scoring a buzzer. The second and third quarter was close, both team had their moment but France was more clutch and opened up a slight lead by the third. In the fourth quarter France just dominated and controlled the rest of the match. Lithuania was very aggressive and fouls a lot and used a tactic I called "foul and run". Basically you target the person that is weak at free throw and harass him and let him have those free throws. Since that guy is not going to score them both, it limits their scoring and breaks their momentum. France was slowly falling into this trap because a few of their players are very poor at free throws. But they overall have better quality on the inside and hold their line very well. Hence they won comfortably.

The china vs. Australia match was poor. There was almost no atmosphere and the Chinese fans especially were as quiet as a kitten. The Chinese boy and his father sitting right next to me didn’t even take part in the little activities they tried to get fans to do to generate some hype into the arena (even though it’s fake because there is hardly any hype moment in the match or in the arena). I mean how hard it is to sing and clap along old brits rock classics like we will we will rock you and wonder wall? if anyone is watching the achieves and hear someone cheering for china when they do something good, then it’s probably me and my brother, because we were the only one making noise and cheering for our country. At least the Australians were kind of cheer their team on from time to time and by the way the Aussies had the shitest chant ever. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie is terrible and fucking annoying.

Anyway rant is over back to the match. China actually started very well, scoring 3 at will and defending well on the inside. They lead the first quarter by 7 points. But things starting to turn bad when the Aussie even it up and took the lead because china committed a professional foul, meaning Australia will get 2 free throws and retains the ball. Of course they scored the free throws and the point after so they are winning by 4. China’s weakness got exposed badly for the rest of the game. china is very weak on the inside. They had no one to attack and defend the board and heavily relied on only number 11 to score inside the key and grab all the rebounds, but he is only one man and he is not a superstar like Yao Ming so he really struggled to make a impact. Also China's guard's are god awful, they got worse passing than the team GB football team, on top of that they don’t dribble very well. They lack penetration and keep forcing it and turn the ball over. In general most of china's shot attempts are long range outside shot, shots in difficult positions and angles, and threes. The sad thing is they are all low percentage shots. I was very disappointed with them, because I felt there is so much they could have done better and also I hate it when I watch a team (or a sport) and feel like there is no one fighting for the ball and having hunger/passion to win.

So in the end Australia complete controlled the inside especially in the offensive end where the defender should have an advantage hence action, scored a few ally loops and won by 20 points. China finished with double the turn overs, got the ball stolen 9 times and half the rebound. Awful in terms of statistics.

After the match I walked around the Olympic pack to look for attractions and food. We must have queued up at the wrong end because we somehow skipped like 90% of the people to get into the mega store, which is very nice. But the stuff there is extremely expensive so I only brought a cap and that it. After we pretty been to every place there is in there included the world's biggest McDonalds. The pictures are on Facebook, so anyone that knows me can see them. If you don’t know me, tough luck because there are too much to upload. We got off the park at 3. We asked the staff where we can go to get off and received a million different false instructions to the underground station in a really crowded area, which made me really mad, especially when I feel like they are speaking like they have as brain cells as an ant.

We went to mall in Stafford for a bit, had food, gone to a massive comic book store (probably the biggest one I have ever been to in UK) in Tottenham court road and gone home.

Overall I am pretty happy with the day, had a good laugh, it could have been more exciting but I am boring and I hate travelling. So this is as exciting as it can get for me.

More impressions on SFxT

Dislikes:

Big and long stage, combine with rolls, it makes the game very slow and easy to run away with life lead.

Rolls are totally free, you can only bait it but you can’t punish it.

Brain dead and stupid jab pressure, whoever thought of making jab the best button for almost every character is an idiot.

The timer kicks in hard because of the long combos and cinematic, combined with the cautious nature of the game, time over occurs very often.

Character imbalance, especially for the Tekken characters. A large majority of them lack the basic tools to complete against the sf ones.

Online sound glitch, not something that I care about but a problem for some people. This is going to be fixed anyway.

Had to play two characters, again I don’t care because this game is easy, but some people do.

Easy combos, again I don’t care because it will only mean more damage for me, but some people don’t like how everything is so easy. For me there are only two hard combos in this game, which are the xiaoyu sweep loop and constant kazuya ewgf.

Personally I don’t like the some of the interface and menus.

Pandora is useless and quick combo is the worst idea ever. Whoever can’t even do l, m, h, launch should not even be playing fighting games, because all you have to do is push all the buttons.


Here are something that I like about the game:

Unlike sf4 you can apply real pressure that is hard to get out of

Big damage when you punish a mistake, again unlike sf4 you get hit hard when your opponent knows you mess something up

2on2, pair mode cross assault is the best thing ever in a fighting game.

Lack of comeback mechanic, people can’t fraud their way to a win with random fadc ultra and xfactor anymore.

No parry and focus attack BS so people have to play real footsies and you get rewarded hugely for it.


I like gems because it makes some sections very interesting, assist gems is a terrible idea though.

No more vortex and magic throws.


I llike the alt costumes, although some of them are not very creative.

Street Fighter X Tekken Character impressions so far

As everybody know I have been grinding this game since its release. I hate how SF characters are given better normals and I hate how anti-air sucks. Most Tekken characters are given a little or no anti-air moves and slow normals, its not even funny how easy they get mauled by people going jumping every where once they are on the defensive. I mean how the fuck a up close fighter like Steve do anything against a character like Ryu who has a 3 frame normal and a 5 frame sweep and a DP with his mighty 6 frame jab that has a third of the range of the sweep?! Did I mention most Tekken chains ends with a negative regardless where you stop...these lot are asking to get DPed by SF characters all day long. Yeah the menus also sucks, especially the training mode menu. DLC sucks. There are a lot of things I don't like about this game right now.

But I still play it to see if my opinion changes. This is my impressions of the characters so far, it is for people who want to pick up the game but not sure who to pick. I just do a small list of strengths and weaknesses of the character I have tried so far.

Abel:
Pros: High damage output
Strong mix-ups and pressure
Has a command throw
One of the best alpha counter in the game
Fast forward dash
Cons: Average anti-air options
A little range options
His best moves are ex moves
Super is gimmicky at best

•  Akuma:
Pros: Very Strong zoning
Best defensive options in the game
Strong air to air and anti-air
Very Strong footsies with cr.mk and s.hk
Good mix-ups
One of the best walk speed in the game
Raging Demon is inescapable and has another combo-able super
Has 3 frame attacks
Cons:
Lowest life in the game

•  Asuka:
Pros: High damage and fantastic juggle potential
Very strong mix-ups and “in your face” pressure
Has a counter move
Has 3 frame attacks and other fast close range moves
Solo combo-able overhead and sweep
Sneaky cross-up with j.hp
Has a command throw
Cons: Poor anti-air options
Poor footsies
Her command throw can be avoided by crouching
No viable “get off me” reversal without ex meter

•  Balrog: 
Pros: Very high damage output
Strong juggles with turn punch and ex low smash
